As predicted

Beautiful day to photograph a wedding, with an iPhone Gorgeous couple, traditional but funky Stunning location, Sandbanks Beach on a sunny spring day Incredible car, soft-top pale blue Rolls Royce And iPhone Hope it went well for them Wonder if this will be the new normal Did get me thinking about the value of an old-fashioned professional wedding photographer I have often been a prompter, planner, advisor, carrier, speeder-upper, slower-downer, master of ceremonies, coat-lender, coordinator, hymn-advisor, venue-recommender, could-you-do-thiser, could-you-do-thater. All included in the price, as I am a human being that likes people and will do everything in my power

Autumn/winter wedding?

Why not? Perhaps the weather is not as reliable as summer, but there’s not much in it. Actually July and August can be too hot and certainly not great for photography. 2021 Weddings?

Seems to me that weddings are largely postponed for this year. Whatever. Makes sense. Tried my hardest, advertising budget blown, incentives exhausted, ideas seem increasingly desperate…. Focus on what’s important; Life. Health. Family. Friends. Environment.

Megan and Harry

..had a big wedding. Charles and Di etc. Did it guarantee them happiness? Have the wedding you want, it is not a show, it should only be big if you can afford it and there are lots of people you want to attend. The great ARTY FOCUS Actually, you don’t need to be married to have a great life. Shock, horror! Some of the nicest weddings I have photographed have been the lowest cost, with DIY elements and without the trimmings that the wedding industry make sound indispensable. Spend your money wisely on what matters, not appearances. Some photographers boast

Loudspeakers vs Lenses

Mysteries in life, there are many, here’s a couple.. Why is glass see-through? How can paper (and ribbons) be so loud? I have Neat Iota Alpha, in oak, which I like very much (as does my wife, critically). Small, discreet and sound lovely. Use with Bluesound Powernode 2 for a fantastically minimal system, does our TV sound too. Speaker drive units are usually concave disks, made from all sorts of materials from paper to aluminium and carbon fibre, with a powerful electo-magnet at the middle to make them vibrate. Iota Alpha’s have paper drive units, the one you can see

Cathartic Process

Quite nice to be able to create content with no financial pressure. Today I’m going to focus on wedding photography equipment Canon make some great cameras and lenses, I’ve had my share. I’ll probably be selling them all soon, so if you like the look of any please get in touch I have 3 cameras and about 10 lenses. Probably about £10k. Any sensible offers, say over £1000? (or whatever a new iPhone costs) I reckon I can get an iPhone with 3 lenses now for the price of just one of my Canon lenses. And what an iPhone can
